Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge

Hello!  Today I am sharing a card that I made for the Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge.

This was our inspiration photo:

Isn't it just the cutest??  I didn't have time to do the challenge before Christmas, so I chose not to do a Christmas theme on my card.   Here is my card:

I was inspired by:
  • The colors red, kraft, cream, with just a touch of green  (LOVE these colors!!!)
  • The polka dot ribbon
  • Used diagonal stripes for the gopher's body
  • Big red nose like the reindeer's noses
  • Used a pom pom on the party hat
  • The kraft background similar to the walls in the photo
  • The partial circle shape similar to root beer packaging design
I wanted to use a red pipe cleaner, but all I had was white.  So I used my ink pad to color it red, but the ink would not dry.  And the heat gun does not work to set the ink.  So no pipe cleaner.

Thanks for looking!!

CC355 Birthday Fishes

One more today!  :)  Christmas is over, and I am spending some time in my crafty room!  I made this card for the CC355 Color Challenge on Splitcoast Stampers.  The colors are Bashful Blue, Night of Navy, and White.

I used the Birthday Buddies set from Paper Smooches.  I love these stamps.  They make me happy!  :)

CAS150 I Pick You

Hello!

I made this card for the Clean and Simple Challenge on Splitcoast Stampers, to make a window card.

I used the I Pick You set from Technique Tuesday for the image and sentiment.  The hearts are stamped with the Love, Ali set and Passion for Polka set, both from Technique Tuesday.

The All Things Love Technique Tuesday Blog Hop

Hello!
Welcome to the All Things Love Technique Tuesday blog hop.
Technique Tuesday’s Stamping Techs are blog hopping again, and we are sharing love-themed projects this month.

I used Technique Tuesday's Monsters Ink set and the Smooch by Ali Edwards set.

Close ups:

How can you not love this happy guy???  I colored him with Copics, cut him out, and popped him up on the card.  The border was made with two punched zig zag chains, I lined up the points (instead of chevron style), and added tiny puched heart accents.

I made the heart balloons by punching hearts, and then adding the bottom tie portion of punched balloons.  Then I tied the thread to the balloon, and you can't even tell that the bottom part was added later.

Paper Smooches Guest DT Search

Hello!  I am sharing a couple cards that I made using the Paper Smooches Shaped Card Templates.  These two cards were part of my entry for the recent Paper Smooches DT call.  Since I was not chosen, I'm throwing these ones back in the hat for the January Guest Designer Search.  I had alot of fun making these cards!

Car Card:

This card uses the Car Card Template. I faced the car the opposite way, to allow for the dog to be the driver. Dog and sentiment are from Birthday Buddies set. The star on door is from My Guy. Rectangle box for antenna flag is from Hang Ups. The stack of gifts was paper pieced using the free digi image. I tied the whole stack of gifts to the roof using the twine from the packaging around the PS stamps.

Snowman Card:

This card was made using the Snowman card template.  The arms, light bulbs, mistletoe, and sentiment are all from the Hang Ups set.

Using Technique Tiles

Hello!  This is a post that I did for the Technique Tuesday Blog that ran last week.  I just thought I'd share it here too!

I have a technique to share using the Technique Tiles from Technique Tuesday!

I went back to basics, and did some simple stamping of a line image stamp, then coloring it with Technique Tuesday's Watercolor Crayons.  I used the fun Monsters Ink set from Technique Tuesday.

Stamp image on tile using StazOn ink:

I applied dimension glaze to the monster image to really make it stand out:

Added a few smaller tiles to finish off the card:

My card:

 Close up:

For my card, I used the sets Flurry and Message in a Banner.  I used the banners to make my trees.  I heat embossed the trees and snowflakes in white on my patterned paper.  Added lots of shimmery glitz to my card:  metal stars, rhinestone stickers, "snow", and embossing.

Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge

Hello!  I am sharing a card that I made for the Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge.

Our inspiration photo:

My card:

I was inspired by several things:
1.  The colors.  Lime green, aqua, and greys.
2.  The fabric texture.  For my background, I inked a piece of screen and pressed my cardstock into it.
3.  The images.  I drew lines around the flower clusters, and I kept the layout of my card similar to the photo.

Both the flower cluster and the sentiment are from the FREE digi stamps that Paper Smooches offers.  You can find ALL the free digi stamps HERE

Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge

Hello! Today I am sharing a card that I made for the Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge!

This is our inspirations photo:
And here is my card:

I was inspired by several things:
1.  The unusual colors.  Deep Bluish Purple, Orangy Red, Peachy Pink, and Cream.
2.  The fabic theme.  I embossed my background to give it a fabric texture, and also did the pinking shears.
3.  The images.  I repeated the cupcakes and stacked them up, similar to the apples in the photo.

I decided to use one of the Paper Smooches digital images for my card.  Kim offers different FREE digital images each month and are only available for that month.  This cupcake was from July 2011, and the "For You" sentiment on the flag (from My Guy) is this months current freebie.   My printer ink was low...  and my images ending up printing a grey color...  but I decided that I liked it like that and used them anyway!!!  A happy mistake.  :)

I prettied up the cupcakes by adding glossy accents to the cherries, and Frosted Lace Stickes to the frosting.   They are so pretty in person!  The cake pedestal was made with a scallop border die from QuicKutz, and the Word Window punch from SU.

I had so much fun making this card!  Hope you like it.  Thanks for visiting today!

Silent Night

Hello!

I made this card for the CAS143 Challenge on SCS.  It is based off a sketch.

I picked up the new holiday color Tim Holtz Distress Inks the other day.  This is my first time using them.  Just a super quick card.  It is a fun sketch!  Sentiment and snowflakes are from the Good Cheer by Ali Edwards set from Technique Tuesday.  The tree is from Patterned Pines by Stampin' Up.

I had a hard time getting a decent pic...  really not happy with this one either, but it is what it is...

CAS-ual Fridays Redo

Back again...  I just had to redo my card for the CAS-ual Fridays "Over The Edge" Challenge!  My original card HERE just seemed TOO BUSY to be CAS, and the monkey got lost in the background paper.

Ahhhh, so much better!!

The orange twine is a RAK from my friend Char, and the cloud paper and polka dot paper are both from my friend Lisa.  Thank you, girlies!!  :)

Side by side:

Check out the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge here:

I feel much better now.  :)  Thanks for visiting today!

CAS-ual Fridays

Hello!  I have a card to share that I made for the CAS-ual Fridays "Over The Edge" Challenge.

I chose a big balloon as my element to go "over the edge".  The balloon is from the George Cricut cartridge.   I thought the background paper from October Afternoon's Campfire line was just perfect for this card.  I wanted it to look like the monkey was being carried away by the balloon!

The monkey is from the fun Changito Birthday set by Stampendous.

Clouds were made using cloud die from Papertrey Ink.  Sentiment is from Paper Smooches.

Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge

Hello!  I am sharing a card that I made for the Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge.  I've been wanting to play along with this challenge, and managed to get my card done just in time!  The Paper Smooches images are just so cute...  they make me happy!  :)

Here is my card:

This was our inspiration photo:

I used the colors orange, brown and green, and made my card in the shape of a tree.  The tree top was cut with a nestie die.  The tree trunk was cut free handed.  I used dies to cut the balloons and the clouds.  The bird was stamped with Stazon ink and colored with a blender pen and ink.

The baker's twine is the twine that the Paper Smooches stamps come packaged in!!!  How cool is that?  :)

Thanks for stopping by today!

October’s Technique Tuesday Stamping Tech Blog Hop!

Hello!
Welcome to October’s Technique Tuesday Stamping Tech Blog Hop!

It’s the time of year to give thanks to the important people in our lives. So this month, the Stamping Techs want to share with you some fabulous thank you cards.

I made a set of Thank You cards:

I have a few  Distressed Inks that I have not used.  And I also just got the Technique Tuesday Two Steppin' Mini.  (Only $2.99!!!)  So these cards started by just inking these flowers to see how they looked and to try the ink.  That is how I decided on the color scheme.  I found papers to match from the older Basic Grey line called Mellow.  Lots of fussy cutting...  but I'm weird and love doing that!  :)  Flowers were finished off with some brown pearl paint in the centers.

Be sure to check out the blogs of everyone taking part in today’s blog hop!!
