The "Brand New" Technique Tuesday Blog Hop

Hello!
Welcome to the "Brand New" Technique Tuesday blog hop!

Technique Tuesday’s Stamping Techs are blog hopping again, and we are delighted this month to share with you some cool projects made with some of the new stamps Technique Tuesday is debuting this week at the CHA trade show in California.

I used the Nuts About You set.  This is one of the Little Treasures sets that retail for $2.99!!  What a great value!!  I love these little sets.

I also used the Smooch set for the "I Heart You" sentiment on the heart.  The Squirrel was stamped with brown ink, then colored with prismacolor pencils.  Isn't he so sweet?

Hello!  I saw the fun Sketch Challenge on SCS today, and just had to play along!  I also used the colors from yesterday's Color Challenge:  Poppy Parade, Lucky Limade, and Black.

Here is my card:

The super cute turtle stamp is from Michael's dollar stamps!!  You can't beat that!!  Sentiment is from Smooch by Ali Edwards (Technique Tuesday).

CAS154 Hello

It has been awhile since I've posted!!  The past couple weeks I've been busy making posters for the graduating seniors from my son's hockey team...  There were 7 total that I had to make.  I just finished last night, and was anxious to get my craft room back in stamping mode!!

So I played along with the CAS Challenge on Splitcoast Stampers today.  It is a color challenge:  Pink, Celery, and White.

Here is my card:

I had a hard time photographing this one...  and ended up not adjusting it at all, because the color was sooo off when I did.

Supplies:  Hero Arts/Sizzix stamps/die, Quickutz Special Delivery set (card shape and letters), SU dsp, PTI White, PTI Spring Leaf, Bakers Twine, Rose Red SU ink, Spring Leaf PTI ink, Stardust stickles, Liquid Pearls, button

MSS Paint The Town Challenge

Hello!  I saw the Market Street Stamps Paint The Town Challenge posted this morning, and I just couldn't resist getting right at it!  I actually went to my craft room to CLEAN UP from previous cards!  haha

I used a free digi stamp from Market Street Stamps.  I don't have any stamps yet...  they are on their way!!

Here is my card:

I used Prismacolor Pencils to color the image, and blended with mineral spirits.  The orange did look more sherbet colored orange until I shaded the edges.  The pink background strips were just SO bright to me, so I sponged kraft ink on the whole background of the card.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge

Hi again!  Here is another card I made for the Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge.  Today is the last day...  there is still time to play along!

This was our inspiration photo:

Here is my card:
I used the bird and the branch from the Hang Ups set, colored simply with Copic Markers.  The sentiment is from Birthday Buddies.  I cut the sentiment apart, so I could use the word "Happy" alone.  To make the word   "Happy" a lighter color gray, I stamped it off first on scratch paper, then again onto the card.

The twine frames the card by using a really OLD punch that I think was called Southwest Corner punch.  It was all the rage about 8-10 years ago.  At the LSS that I worked at, we couldn't keep them in stock.  We called it the "Fiber" punch.  :)

Thanks for visiting today!

Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge

Hi Everyone!

Today is the last day for the Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge!  And once again, I am squeaking this in just in time!  :)

This was our inspiration photo:

Here is my card:

The rainbow colors are so fun!  For my card, I used Copic Markers on a piece of cardstock, then cut a strip from that.  The hearts are from the Hang Ups set, and were stamped using a light gray ink, then stickles added to the center.  I got creative with the sentiment.  The "I" is from the word "Boo!" from the Halloweenies set.  The Heart is from Hang Ups, and the "You" is from the word "you're" in the My Guy set.  The rainbow ric rac is a RAK from my SCS friend MariLynn.  (Thank you!).

CAS-ual Fridays

Hello!

I am back with another card for the CAS-ual Fridays CFC33 Challenge.  This time I am using the free digi stamp offered by Market Street Stamps.

The CAS-ual Fridays Challenge is to use kraft and twine.  Two of my favorites!!

My card:
What a sweet little coffee cup image this is!!  I colored the image with copic markers, then cut it out and popped it up on the card.  The little dots were part of the image, but I had cut them off of the cup image...  so I pierced the original to trace it onto my card base, then used a fine point marker to make the dots.

Sentiment is from a Fiskars set called Latte Love.  I will use this card for a Valentine for my husband.  I like that it is not the typical Valentine colors, especially the black heart.  haha

Thanks for stopping in today!!

Kris

CAS151 Congrats

Hello!  Sharing a card today that I made for today's Clean and Simple Challenge on Splitcoast.  This is one of my favorite challenges!

Kept it very CAS with this one...  And had to go kinda with a New Year's theme, even though this could be used for any kind of Congrats.

All the stamps I used are from Technique Tuesday:
Vino (Wine glasses)
Good Cheer (swirly border)

Thanks for stopping by today!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year Everyone!

I took some time for myself today, and made a couple cards for the CAS-ual Fridays CFC33 Challenge.
I needed a couple Thank You cards for Christmas gifts we received.  Yes, I have a ton of Thank You cards in my stash...  but I wanted a winter theme...  and it was more fun making new ones!

The CAS-ual Fridays Challenge is to use kraft and twine.  Two of my favorites!!

I made two similar cards.  I am constantly saving cool packaging things...  and these coffee sleeves from Panera have been on my desk for months.  I like that they have a polka dot pattern instead of the common corrugated ones.

First card:
I used a Christmas Tree die from QuicKutz to cut the tree from the coffee sleeve.  I had originally intended on using the back side, without the Panera logo.  But when I cut it, I thought that it added a cool design element and looked kinda artsy.  I did not use the star that was on the die...  I liked the recycling emblem, and added that to the top to make a "star".  I curled the twine around a paint brush, then damped slightly with stamp cleaner (besides coffee, it was the only liquid within reach! haha).  Card is 3 x 6.

And another version:
On this card, I used a "snow pen" around the edges of the tree.  Then heat embossed it to puff it up.  Added cute little twine bows to finish it off.

What?  No stamping on either of these cards...  and did not even use any ink at all!  How do you make a card without stamps or ink??  Haha...   Better get back to my craft room and get my inky fix!

Thanks for stopping by today!!
